Al Dugan – Founder and President
Al Dugan attended Jesuit High School in New Orleans, LA, and graduated from Louisiana State University. Mr. Dugan worked for 24 years for Marine Office of America Corporation (MOAC) including ex-patriot service in Puerto Rico. Mr. Dugan was awarded the Chairman’s award, the highest award in the corporation. He served at numerous and varied positions of increased importance and retired as a Director of Underwriting in 2002. Mr. Dugan than served as Senior Vice President for Falvey Insurance Group for 12 years, the largest underwriting agents for Lloyd’s of London for cargo in the world specializing in technology and Life Science cargo insurance. He is currently retired working with his time spent on World Real Deal and some additional marine cargo consulting work. Mr. Dugan has expertise in shipping and insuring cargo as well as his executive and strategic expertise.
Leisa Reinecke. Ph.D. – Board Member
Leisa Reinecke Flynn has been teaching marketing since 1983 and working in market and governmental research since 1973. She has taught at University of New Orleans, The American University, FloridaStateUniversity, and University of Southern Mississippi. She teaches Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Retail Management, and Marketing Strategy and has published more than 70 refereed articles in academic journals and proceedings. Outside of the academy, Dr. Flynn has consulted with many small retailers, conducted a comprehensive survey of the furniture industry in the US, functioned as a school assessment analyst in Florida, and served as an expert witness in a broad range of retail business interruption cases.
Kim Welty – Board Member and Secretary
Kim Welty is currently Director of Global Design Operations for Logitech. She has over 2 decades of experience in both consumer and B to B marketing communications and is well versed in marketing, and product design disciplines, project management, creative development, managing global staff and P and L. Kim has strong leadership, presentation, and written communication skills. Many of her responsibilities over the years have been focused on developing creative, results-driven marketing communications strategies and solutions to sales and marketing challenges for a diverse range of products, services and sales channels.
Christopher Robin Tate – Board Member
Raised and educated in New Orleans, LA, Robin Tate started in the entertainment business in the early 1970’s. He was Senior Vice President and Partner of St Louis Contemporary Productions (1978-1998), one of the largest entertainment companies in the U.S, producing 3,000 events annually from rock, comedy, corporate, truck pulls and sponsorship packages. He sold this company in 1998 to a Wall Street company SFX. His forte was producing rock and comedy tours. In 1988 he became the largest producer of comedy in the U.S with clients Tim Allen, Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Dunham, Roseanne Barr, Whoopi Goldberg, Dana Carvey, Dennis Miller, Kings of Comedy and George Lopez to name a few. He is currently living in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. He still handles National Touring for Jeff Dunham(the biggest comedian in the world),Bill O’Reilly & Dennis Miller and Billy Gardell (Mike &Molly) and produces over 200 shows a year.
Dr. Daniel Vargas – Board Member
Daniel Vargas was born in Santiago, Chile, where he lived until his family relocated to Bogota, Colombia during his early teens. He attended medical school in Colombia after which he completed his studies in diagnostic radiology and cardiothoracic imaging at the University of Texas in San Antonio and Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Vargas currently holds a position as faculty at University Hospital in Denver, CO. He serves in multiple committees at the institutional, state and national level and lectures both nationally and internationally. Dr. Vargas will be an important asset in World Real Deal’s work in Latin America.
Dr. Alan Kramer – Board member
Alan Kramer is a medical oncologist, practicing general medical oncology in San Francisco, CA. He is a full clinical professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine. He received a degree in medicine with honors in 1979, from the University of Siena in Siena Italy. Dr. Kramer is also an accomplished documentary film maker having completed three acclaimed documentaries entitled Living with Breast Cancer, The Children’s Story as well as Living With Lung Cancer, The Wells Whitney Story and Living with Breast Cancer, The Spouse’s Story.
